Selling the Toyota

Yesterday I posted our truck on craigslist because we have no need for a 2 door vehicle with another baby on the way. I thought this would be difficult since it had been in an accident. Now I realize I've inherited a bad situation from our insurance company. They insisted that it shouldn't have been totaled and that there were comparable vehicles in our area selling for more. My wife and I second-guessed the claims adjuster a couple times and even talked to him at length about it but they insisted. Now I look at the blue book value and can't imagine buying our truck for nearly $5,000 more than that. Now it's repaired and everything is good right? Wrong. Here's how every call as gone so far...

Potential Buyer: I saw you're truck. Looks awesome!
Me: Thanks, do you have any questions?
Potential Buyer: Has it been in an accident?
Me: Yes.
Potential Buyer: How much were the repairs?
Me: Almost $10,000.
Potential Buyer: Not interested.
Me: *groan*

I'm stuck. I can't lie. I can't convince someone that taking it to a reputable shop repaired the truck. Mentioning that I took it to the dealership to confirm the work doesn't help either. The repair price is nearly the sale price of the truck and people are suspicious! I have a feeling I'm going to end up lowering the price until I find people that are more desperate for transportation than they care about an accident. The question is where that tipping point is? Why couldn't the insurance company just totaled it?!
